International Chocolate Show in NYC

Joelle appeared at the International Chocolate Show in NYC - Opening Ceremonies and Press Reception, Friday, October 30, 2009, 8:00 am-10:00 am., which was closed to the public - The show openned to the public at 10:00 am.

Only four (4) chocolatiers were chosen this year to present "Chocolate fashions" , designed around a Halloween theme. Joelle created, "The Bride of Frankenstein", which was worn during the press reception and then placed on display throughout the show.

NYC Chcolate Show Demonstration 11/09

On Saturday, October 31st, she gave a demonstration, hosted by her sponsor, Valrhona Chocolate, in the Viking Culinary Theater, from 10:00 am to 11:45 am, featuring molded frames for all occasions.

This year, the show returned to its usual venue, The Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street - New York, NY 10011. The show ran from October 30, 2009 through November 1, 2009

Société Culinaire Philanthropique - Salon of Culinary Arts Competition in NYC

The Salon of Culinary Art, organized by the Société Culinaire Philanthropique, is presented each year in November during the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York. The Salon welcomes participants from around the world, who showcase their skills using traditional and modern techniques to present current trends in the culinary world, during this three (3) day competition.

This year, Joelle competed in a combined Pastry Exhibit which must include the following five pieces: (1) wedding cake, (1) all occasion cake, (1) sugar or chocolate showpiece, (1) pastillage display, (1) petits fours/pastry display. Her Wedding cake won "Best in Show" overall. It received a Gold medal and cash price. The showpieces and cakes remain on display through Tuesday 11/03/09.
